Soft gathers, a drawstring tie and a waist that draws in rather than clamps down.
The Look
Fabric gathers across the front into a gentle tie at the neckline, giving the top half shape without structure. Fine straps leave the shoulders bare, and a dense floral print runs across a pale ground in pinks, greens and soft yellows. It is busy enough to carry a plain shoe and a simple bag without needing anything else.
The Fit
The drawstring tie means the fit through the bust adjusts to suit rather than being fixed by a seam, and the straps lengthen or shorten to sit where you want them. An elasticated waist draws the fabric in gently before the skirt falls away. Sizes S through 2XL.
The Feel
Everything about the fabric is light and unfussy: it moves easily, it does not cling, and it settles quickly after you have been sitting. Nothing pulls at the shoulders, which is often where strappy styles go wrong.
The Styling
For cooler months, layer a fitted knit or a cropped cardigan over the top and add ankle boots. On warmer days, a flat sandal and a straw bag is the whole answer.
Choose pink or orange and keep it on hand.
